Anointing of the Sick
If you or a loved one are preparing for surgery or hospitalization, we encourage you to receive the Anointing of the Sick beforehand. Hospital chaplains do their best to visit patients, but due to emergencies, they may not always be available prior to surgery.
Please notify the Parish Office at (315) 685-5083 if you are going into the hospital. For privacy reasons, hospitals are not permitted to share patient information with parishes—so we rely on you or your family to let us know.
When you are admitted, be sure to indicate that you are Catholic. This ensures hospital chaplains and Eucharistic Ministers are aware of your faith and can arrange visits. If you do not receive a visit, contact the hospital’s Spiritual Care Office to confirm that your religious affiliation is listed correctly.
