Saint Carlo Acutis

Saint Carlo Acutis

Carlo Acutis was a British-born Italian student celebrated for his devotion to the Eucharist and his use of digital media to promote Catholic devotion. Born in London and raised in Milan, he created a website documenting Eucharistic miracles and Marian apparitions. He is the first millennial saint.

Faith & Life

  • Carlo loved the Eucharist and went to daily Mass. How can we make the Eucharist more central in our own lives?
  • Carlo said, “The Eucharist is my highway to heaven.” What do you think he meant by that?
  • What does it mean to you that someone our age (or close to our age) is already a saint?

Technology & Modern Life

  • Carlo used technology for good—he created a website to share Eucharistic miracles. How can we use the internet and social media to share goodness instead of negativity?
  • What are some ways technology can pull us away from God, and how can we guard against that?
  • If you could create a website or project like Carlo, what would it be about?

Holiness in Everyday Life

  • Carlo enjoyed video games, soccer, and being with friends. How do you think he balanced fun and faith?
  • He often stood up for kids who were bullied. What can we do to be more like Carlo when we see someone being treated unfairly?
  • Carlo once said, “All people are born originals, but many die as photocopies.” What do you think he meant? How can we live as “originals”?

Personal Reflection

  • If you could ask Blessed Carlo Acutis one question, what would it be?
  • What is one way you can be more like Carlo this week—whether in kindness, prayer, or courage?
  • Carlo loved praying the Rosary every day. Is there a prayer you want to commit to praying more regularly?

Oh God, Our Father,
thank you for giving us Carlo,
a life example for the young
and a message of love for everyone.

You made him become enamoured with
Your Son Jesus, Making of the Eucharist
his “Highway to Heaven”.
You gave him Mary, as a most loving Mother,
and, with the Rosary, you made him
a poet of her tenderness. Receive his prayer for us.
Above all, gaze upon the poor,
whom he loved and helped.
Grant for me too, by his intercession,
the grace that I need ...
And make our joy fulfilled,
placing Carlo among the Saints
of your Church, so that his smile
may shine again for us in the glory of your name.
Amen

Faith-Centered Activities

  • Mass & Eucharistic Adoration Challenge: Carlo loved the Eucharist. Choose one extra Mass or a short visit to Adoration as a family this week.
  • “Eucharistic Miracles Roadmap”: Carlo documented Eucharistic miracles. As a family, pick one miracle from his website and learn about it together. Print a map and mark where it happened.
  • Rosary Walk: Carlo prayed the Rosary daily. Go on a family walk and pray one decade together outside in nature.

Technology with Purpose

  • Good News Project: Instead of just scrolling, create a family “good news” post on social media—share something uplifting, a prayer, or a saint quote.
  • Digital Fasting Night: Pick one evening where everyone sets aside devices. Play board games, cook together, or share stories—just like Carlo loved spending time with people face-to-face.

Kindness in Action

  • Be a Friend Like Carlo: Carlo stood up for kids who were left out. As a family, do one act of kindness for someone who might feel lonely—invite them for dinner, send a card, or include them in play.
  • Family Gratitude List: Write down blessings on slips of paper throughout the week and read them together on Sunday. Carlo was known for his joyful, grateful heart.

Creative Activities

  • Saint Trading Card: Create a “Saint Card” for Carlo with his picture on one side and his favorite quotes, hobbies, and virtues on the back. Make it fun and colorful!
  • Family Patron Saint Collage: Print or draw images of saints you admire, including Carlo, and make a family collage of your heavenly “team.”
  • Original, Not a Copy Project: Inspired by Carlo’s quote, “All people are born originals, but many die as photocopies,” have each family member draw or write what makes them unique in God’s eyes.
