What is the Easter Season?

Jesus Christ is Risen! Easter celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus, the central feast of Christianity. Learn more about Easter and find Easter activities.

  • What does Jesus’ Resurrection mean to you?
How does knowing that Jesus rose from the dead change the way we live our lives?
  • Where do you see new life around you?
What are some examples of new beginnings, hope, or growth that you have experienced or noticed in your family or community?
  • What does it mean to have hope?
When life is difficult, how can our faith in the Resurrection help us keep hope?
  • How can we be the hands and feet of Jesus?
What is one thing our family could do this Easter season to show love, kindness, or compassion to someone else?
  • How can we keep Easter going beyond Easter Sunday?
What is one way we can carry the joy of the Resurrection into our everyday lives?

Loving God, we thank you for the joy of Jesus' resurrection. Fill our home with your peace, bind our hearts together in love, and help us share your light and hope with everyone we meet this season. Amen.

  • How To Draw An Easter Cross
  • Create an “Alleluia” Family Banner: Have each family member decorate a piece of paper with the word ALLELUIA or a symbol of the Resurrection. Put the pieces together to create a banner for your home.
  • Plant Seeds of Hope: Give each family member a small seed or plant to care for during the Easter Season. As the plant grows, talk about how God brings new life. Families could write one “seed of hope” on a piece of paper—something they hope to grow in their own lives, such as kindness, patience, prayer, or generosity.
  • Easter Acts of Kindness Challenge: Create a family list of 10 small acts of kindness to complete during the Easter Season.
  • Family Prayer & “Resurrection Light”: Choose one evening during the Easter Season to gather as a family around a candle. Turn off the lights and begin with the simple words: “Jesus is risen! Alleluia!” Then have each family member share: Something they are thankful for. Someone they want to pray for. One way they saw God working in their life that week.
