St. Mary's of the Lake is partnering with TechBack to host two Technology Recycling Collections, giving parishioners and community members a safe, convenient way to recycle unwanted electronics while helping the environment.
Collection Dates
- Thursday, July 9 – Wednesday, July 15
- Thursday, September 17 – Wednesday, September 30
Accepted Items
Computers & Devices
- Desktop computers, Laptops, Servers, Cell phones, Smartphones, Tablets
Monitors
- Flat-screen monitors only
Computer Accessories
- Desktop printers, Scanners, Copiers
Audio & Video Equipment
- DVD players, VCRs, Stereo equipment
Networking Equipment
- Routers, Modems, Switches, Hubs
Cables & Accessories
- Chargers, Cables, Adapters, Assorted cords
Power & Storage Components
- Power supplies, Media drives, Circuit boards
Gaming Equipment
- Gaming consoles, Gaming accessories
Office Electronics
- Fax machines, Shredders, Label makers
Small Kitchen Appliances
- Blenders, Coffee makers, Food processors, Electric kettles
Smart Home & Security Devices
- Smart speakers, Thermostats, Cameras, Video doorbells, Security systems, CCTV equipment, Motion detectors, Keypads
Drop-Off Location
Collection bins will be located outside the Parish Office.
Items may be dropped off:
- Before or after weekend Masses
- During parish office hours: Monday–Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
No appointment is necessary.
Why Recycle Your Electronics?
Electronic waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams in the world. By responsibly recycling your unwanted technology, you help keep valuable materials out of landfills and ensure devices are processed safely and securely.
As part of the TechBack GiveBack Program, a tree is planted for every computer or device recycled. Every item collected helps reduce electronic waste while supporting environmental sustainability.
Items We Cannot Accept
Please do not place any of the following items in the collection bins: TVs of any kind, CRT monitors, Loose batteries, Light bulbs (including LED bulbs), Refrigerators, Air conditioners, Dehumidifiers, Large household appliances, Microwaves. These items require specialized processing and cannot be accepted through this collection.
Is My Data Safe?
Yes. TechBack provides secure handling of data-bearing devices and follows industry-standard data destruction and recycling practices. Devices containing personal information will be processed according to their secure data destruction procedures.
