Steve was raised in Manlius and his wife Erin on a farm in Fabius. Steve’s career took them to Wichita, Kansas where they lived for 26 years and raised a family of three children until Steve’s retirement in 2018, returning to the Syracuse area in 2019. Steve and his wife both earned a Masters in Theological Studies in May 2019 from Newman University in Wichita, KS, the capstone of which was a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Steve also earned an undergraduate degree from SU, an MBA from Wichita State University, and is a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus.
Steve and his wife Erin teamed up to lead the K-8 faith formation program at Church of the Magdalen in Wichita for 4 years. They have both sponsored individuals in becoming Catholic through the OCIA process, taught Confirmation and sacramental prep for Reconciliation/Eucharist, and most recently worked for Fr Brian at St Ann’s in Manlius leading the K-6 faith formation program. Steve is an ardent listener of EWTN Catholic Radio Sirius XM 130, which had a profound impact bringing his faith to life in 2007. He and his wife are currently finishing the 2-year Pastoral Leadership course through the Diocese of Syracuse with Sr Laura Bufano. For fun they go on walks and binge on Catholic oriented YouTube videos ranging from Bishop Baron, to Fr Mark Goring, to Fr Jim Blount, to exorcist Fr Chad Ripperger, Msgr James Shea, and many many others. Steve is also a guitarist in a local band and started his own handyman and remodeling business last year (though that 3rd career will take a back seat to his 2nd career as Faith Formation Leader at St Mary’s!).
